Pupil Premium Report

What is the Pupil premium?

The Pupil Premium is specific, additional funding provided to support the education of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years, children who have been looked after continuously for a period of six months and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

How do we spend the Pupil premium at Brighter Futures Academy Trust?

At all Brighter Futures schools and academies, we believe the best approach to accelerating progress is through personalising the approach to teaching and learning for each individual child. With this in mind, we spend the bulk of our pupil premium funding on staffing. This is split between class based staff delivering high quality learning opportunities and our pupil welfare teams providing much needed support for many families to ensure that pupils’ health and emotional well-being are supported so that they can fully engage in education. A small proportion is spent on leadership time for the monitoring and evaluation of these approaches so we can evaluate what is working well and what we need to change.

Central to this is a focus on the progress of all vulnerable groups to guard against any barriers to progress. A detailed breakdown of these figures and the impact of our approaches are discussed on a termly basis with the Governing Bodies and Trustees.

The following reports detail the impact of our expenditure in previous academic years and show our plans for the current academic year allocation.
